Arnica

Growing Arnica: Varieties, Planting Guide, Care, Problems, and HarvestHello, I am Arnica (Arnica chamissonis), native to North America and a close relative to Arnica montana.  We have interchangeable healing properties. Unlike Arnica montana, I will overwinter inthe U.S. midwest and come back year after year. You really want to have me around in your medicine kit. I am important for a good reason. Applied topically in salve, oil or liniment form I am supreme at reducing inflammation from sprains and strains. I quickly reduce bruising from injuries and help relieve pain from overworked and tired muscles. Rub me on inflamed and achy joints but not where the skin has been broken. You can find me at Red Clover Herbal Apothecary Farms annual medicinal plant sale in May and take me home and grow me. I am easy to make an oil out of me. Ask herb farmer Nancy when you are here.
